Before, during and after...
Before you attend Edcamp Katy...
Do a little of your own research about what Edcamps are. The info below is very helpful. It is recommended that you take some time to think through topics you would like to discuss. Also, take a little time to think through topics that you would be willing to facilitate. Edcamp won't function properly if participants don't step up and help facilitate the sessions.
Another thing to think about is setting up a Twitter account that you can use to connect with other educators if you haven't already. Once you have this set up, follow other great educators and begin building your global PLN. You'll be blown away by what you can learn by connecting with other passionate educators all over the globe.
During Edcamp Katy...
TWEET, TWEET, TWEET! Use the hashtag #EdcampKaty to share what it is that you're learning. Attendance is limited and many people won't be able to attend for various reasons. That means that people will likely be following on Twitter and it's up to the Edcamp Katy attendees to share the great learning that's happening with the world!
We have also set up a Google Drive folder for notes that can be accessed by clicking here. The purpose of this is to give those who were unable to attend access to everyone's collaborative notes. We would love for this folder to be filled with the brilliance of all of our Edcamp Katy attendees at the end of the day for us to share with the world!
After Edcamp Katy...
First, we'd love your feedback! At the end of the day, we'll post a link to a Google Form on the main page of our website and to Twitter. This will give you an opportunity to give feedback whether it be positive or negative. We want to hear from you so we know what you thought was successful and what could make Edcamp Katy better for next year.
Second, take some time when you get home to process what you learned at Edcamp Katy. Prioritize what "learns" should be immediately implemented in your class and what can come next week, next month or next year. Don't overdo it though! Implement a little at a time. Quality over quantity!
